Safe Journey Eileen

Created by Derrick 2 years ago
A truly beautiful loving sister, travelling through most of my life with Anne, from meeting at your home in Fareham in 1983 through to these difficult last few months. It was 10 years earlier that I first met Anne, but we were not together long enough for me to meet big sister. Maybe for the best, as our worlds were far apart in those analogue days and if you thought I was a bit neanderthal in ‘83 you would of thought me even more far out in ‘73. As time went by and our worlds came together, sharing a deep love for Anne was more than enough to become close family friends. With Alan by your side, we shared countless happy events as our children grew and a few sad ones as we lost loved ones too. We enjoyed chatting and putting the world to right, with the occasional loving observation on my driving and my inability to fasten all my shirt buttons.
We loved spending time together and there was such joy preparing for your arrival at our home in Devon, while after each stay, seeing you all packed up ready to go was tinged with sadness. My departing words were always ‘safe journey’ and knowing we would meet again, left a warm feeling in our hearts.
